I just love vintage nightwear, lets face it you simply can't compare modern pyjamas to the glamour of a floaty frilly 1950's pink dressing gown embellished with tiny pretty flowers. The nighties and dressing gowns are in abundance at jumble sales and charity shops. So if you'd like your dreams to be spun in gold in metro goldwyn mayer style I'd pop off and pick one up : )

The vintage driving gloves

You simply have to have a pair of vintage driving gloves... I picked this pair up from a charity shop for 50p they were brand new still with original tag 1960's, they are a must have for driving just so chic especially when worn with a floral tea dress at the wheel, because it's all about how well you look and not how well you drive..
beep... beep...
The vintage bag

The vintage bag, It's a 1970's Burberry and I love it,love it, love it, it has that retro 70's look and has loads of essential room inside. you just have to get one of these, they go for quite a bit of money, but just save up or keep hunting around those charity shops, because you just never know your going to find...... have fun ......
The vintage Victorian blouse
The vintage festival dress

The vintage festival dress, long 1970's pretty floral maxi dress, what can I say.......hides a multitude of sins is cool in the hot summer, groovy and ditsy I just love them, get out hunting the charity shops to bag yourself one and hippy it up with a wide brim straw hat and huge sunglasses, groovy man!!!
The vintage dog
Wearing the vintage headband

The headband...here shown in 80's style with matching frilly top in teal. You can pick these scarfs up from jumble sales and charity shops for a few pence and they're much nicer than the high street ones as they have original vintage prints and shades. Lighten up your face and stand out in the crowd, for styling think... The breakfast club, Pretty in pink or Ferris Bueller's day off...have fun!!!

Wearing the vintage gloves
In times past a lady would never have been seen out without her gloves. A fabulous feminine essential to any girls outfit. So many colours, lengths and fabrics, you simply must wear your vintage gloves with your vintage dress. Jumble sales usually have boxes of gloves for as little as 50p a pair so for that price get as many as you like and you can mix and match with your outfits to your hearts delight.... have fun!!!
Wearing the prom dress

The vintage prom dress....this one is from the 1980's, huge full skirt with net underneath and a big satin bow to the back, Molly Ringwald eat your heart out. You can't go wrong with a vintage prom dress they flatter any figure, the fitted bodice holds you in tight and they look stunning for any party, you'll look the belle of the ball...
Get down to your local charity shop to pick one up, the 1950's ones are harder to find and the best place to get on is on ebay, but the 1980's dresses are still in abundance in the charity shops, you've just got to hunt for them, so go get your vintage feet out there and tread the light fantastic right back to the fabulous 80's.

Wearing your vintage summer hat

The vintage summer hat, wide brim with outstanding elegance and charm. this 1950's hat looks great with a full skirt floral dress or a sun dress. quirk it up by adding big vintage sunglasses. A touch of bright red lipstick gives you a glamour hollywood look. stand out from the crowd in the summer heat and get yourself some admiring glances in your vintage hat. If you cant find an original then pop down to Primark and pick up a cheap one then dress it up with a wide band of ribbon and some faux flowers.
The vintage dresser summer styling sunglasses
Wear vintage sunglasses, a blast from the past could enhance your summer style. My favourites are the huge frame 1960's and 1970's styles especially if the frames are in a smokey tan. Flattering to the face , stand out in the crowd and incredibly slimming. You can catch yourself a pair from a local charity shop for a pretty reasonable price and be the envy of Kate moss in her very expensive pair, you might even grab yourself a Pete Doherty on the way. have fun!!!!
